“Generation KKK”: Normalizing Hate on TV?

A&E is making a documentary miniseries focused on the Ku Klux Klan, called “Generation KKK.” An eight-part series, it will delve into the lives of high-ranking KKK members and their families. Rob Sharenow, the general manager of A&E, acknowledges that this is dicey territory for the network to venture into, telling the New York Times: “We certainly didn’t want the show to be seen as a platform for the views of the KKK. The only political agenda is that we really do stand against hate”

But some critics say that making the docuseries in the first place is normalizing the KKK, and that’s simply not acceptable:
