OSU Attack Possibly Inspired by ISIS
Yesterday, law enforcement officials said that the suspect in the Ohio State University attack could have been inspired by the Islamic State terror group. As police officers tried to map out Abdul Razan Ali Artan’s last days before the attack, they realized that there were many pieces missing regarding his whereabouts on Monday morning. They do know he bought a knife at Walmart the same day, but they don’t know if it was the knife used in the attack. What they also know is that he acted alone, so even if he was inspired by ISIS, the attack doesn’t seem to be a part of any bigger scheme or plan. But many are worried it will likely stoke Islamophobia in the U.S., with reactions like this:
ISIS is taking credit for the terrible stabbing attack at Ohio State University by a Somali refugee who should not have been in our country.
