When cereal brand Kellogg’s decided to pull its advertising from Breitbart on Tuesday, the company saw red and called it a “war by leftist companies… against conservative customers whose values propelled Donald Trump into the White House.” Instead of quietly accepting Kellogg’s decision, the alt-right website that often is accused of publishing articles verging on racism, nationalism, and anti-Semitism, started firing back by urging readers to boycott all Kellogg’s products and claiming that the brand is complicit in child labor abuses. But where were those concerns when Breitbart was being paid by Kellogg’s?
This has started a serious cereal war on social media.
