Michael J. Morrell, former Director of the CIA, wrote an op-ed in the New York Times in which he endorsed Hillary Clinton for President. He stated: “Donald J. Trump is not only unqualified for the job, but he may well pose a threat to our national security.” One of the strongest points he made for Hillary Clinton and against Donald Trump was that he will be easily manipulated by other countries, including Russia’s Vladimir Putin, stating:

President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia was a career intelligence officer, trained to identify vulnerabilities in an individual and to exploit them. That is exactly what he did early in the primaries. Mr. Putin played upon Mr. Trump’s vulnerabilities by complimenting him. He responded just as Mr. Putin had calculated.

Morrell joins the long list of officials who have come out to say their piece against a Trump presidency.
