Feyisa Lilesa Protests At Men’s Marathon, Might Be Killed

Ethiopian marathoner, Feyia Lilesa, won the Silver Medal in Sunday’s men’s marathon. He marked his victory by demonstrating a dramatic protest against his countries government.

“Lilesa crossed his arms above his head as he finished the grueling event – as a sign of solidarity with the Oromo people, who are protesting against the Ethiopian government reallocating them from their farmland ” said The Daily Mail.

Lilesa told outlets: “If you talk about democracy they kill you. If I go back to Ethiopia maybe they will kill me, or put me in prison.”
