The Fox News host has been under fire lately, after news broke that he had sent unsolicited lewd texts and photos to women he worked with. Bolling joins a number of other men associated with Fox News to be on the receiving end of such allegations recently–including founder Roger Ailes and host Bill O’Reilly. Bolling was suspended over the weekend in light of these allegations. But Bolling doesn’t seem like he’s willing to go out without a fight. He filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Yashar Ali, a freelance reporter for HuffPost who broke the story.
Bolling’s lawyer claims, “This anonymously sourced and uncorroborated story is false, defamatory, and obviously intended to destroy this good man’s career and family. We will defend Eric aggressively in court, where actual facts, based on evidence, testimony, and cross-examination, will belie these anonymous accusations.” Ali says he stands by his sources and has no intention of revealing them. Lydia Polgreen, the HuffPost Editor-in-Chief, said the company will support Ali.
