We’re back with the latest from Trump’s big fat mouth. Nope, it’s not “titties.” This time, Trump is getting slammed by the Clinton campaign–and well, everyone–for what many interpret as a joke about the assassination of his opponent. Trump said at a Wilmington, North Carolina rally:

“Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish, the Second Amendment, by the way, and if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know. But I’ll tell you what, that will be a horrible day.”

Commentators across the Twitterverse are saying that Trump suggested someone might kill Hillary.

A major party nominee suggesting, jokingly or not, that people assassinate their opposing candidate is not funny. It’s terrifying.

From his words, it certainly sounds like he’s making a really, really bad, god awful joke.

In any case, the statement is very serious and political assassinations aren’t something you should joke about when running for president, particularly when it’s part of a larger effort to undermine democratic institutions. 

Tomorrow’s spin today: Trump just meant Second Amendment activists should vote against her in November.
