During a discussion on women’s access to reproductive care hosted by the ACLU, comedian and actress Tina Fey called out white women who voted for President Trump. She said that many of those women probably just want to forget about the election now and “go back to watching HGTV.” She added, ”Because it doesn’t affect you this minute but it’s going to affect you eventually.”
According to exit polls, 44 percent of white female college graduates voted for Trump, which is surprising, given Trump’s history of horrible behavior and comments about women. Fey said, “Gains that we’ve made over the past 100 years are under attack,” and urged women not to look away. But a lot of women who felt targeted by Fey’s comments hit back on social media and criticized her for attacking other women.
