After a couple of weeks of drama and scandals involving several airlines, the latest one involves a death on a United Airlines flight. A giant, 10-month-old rabbit named Simon–likely to grow into the largest in the world–died after a flight from Britain to Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The bunny’s father held the Guinness World Record for biggest rabbit in the world. Simon had been sold to an American farm and was to be entered in a competition at the Iowa State Fair. United issued a statement offering its condolences, but many people took the opportunity to crack some jokes.
United also announced that it is changing its policies after the incident earlier this month when a man was dragged off a plane. It will now offer passengers up to $10,000 to voluntarily skip an overbooked flight.
