Ellis Battista was in Las Cruces, New Mexico and apparently really wanted a cigarette. When he discovered that the 24-hour convenience store where he was trying to buy a pack was closed, he broke in. But, he left money for the pack on the counter–he was arrested for breaking and entering anyways.
