Native Hawaiians Granted Nation-To-Nation Status

Last week, the U.S. Department of the Interior finalized a rule that would allow a future unified Native Hawaiian government to establish an official relationship with the United States. More than 560 Native American nations already have similar rights to this and such a relationship “could allow federal considerations on issues ranging from land management to social services.”
