The latest entry on the list of celebrities protesting the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline is Neil Young, who asked President Obama to end the “violence” in an open letter on Facebook yesterday. He wrote that protesters are “standing strong in the face of outrageous, unnecessary and violent aggression,” that is being paid for by taxpayer money.
The latest development is that 2,000 veterans have pledged to serve as human shields next week, as protesters have been hit by water cannons, rubber bullets, dogs, and pepper spray.
When winter comes, life could become rough for the protesters, who have already been at the site for several months.
