President Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon co-wrote a hip-hop musical about the LA riots back in the 90’s. This is not fake news–NowThis obtained a copy of the manuscript and had a group of actors read it out loud. The play is called “The Thing I Am” and was never turned into a movie. You can probably figure out why. The play’s language mixes Shakespeare and street slang and the characters have names like Stink Eye and Baby Gangsta. It actually seems to be a hip-hop adaptation of the Shakespeare play “Coriolanus.” The whole reading is 20 minutes long and some of the lines include, “He’s a lamb that barks like a pit-bull,” and, “B*tch please. It becomes a man. Breasts nursing look no lovelier than when a forehead spits forth blood.”
