A New American Hero?

Some conservative men don’t want to pay for maternity care or prenatal care. Insurance coverage for these services has played a role in the Obamacare repeal debate. During a town hall on Monday night, Republican Congressman Rod Blum of Iowa said he wanted to “get rid of some of these crazy regulations that Obamacare puts in,” as if Americans have control over what diseases they get. He asked, “Why should a 62-year-old man have to pay for maternity care?”

A local woman named Barbara Rank became somewhat of an internet hero, after she wrote a letter to her local newspaper in which she schooled Blum on how insurance works. Her response went viral, and Twitter loved it.
