This weekend was the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner…with no president in attendance. However, that didn’t stop Muslim comedian Hasan Minhaj from the “Daily Show” from poking fun at Trump. He brought up some obvious stuff, like the fact that the president was not attending the dinner: “The leader of our country is not here. But that’s because he’s in Moscow.” He also talked about what it’s like to grow up as a minority in America, and pointed out how important it is to protect free speech. “Only in America can a first generation Indian American Muslim kid get on this stage and make fun of the President,” he said. As expected, many Democrats cheered his performance while many Trump supporters criticized him, saying he was disrespectful of POTUS.
