Oklahoma Republican State Senator Ralph Shortey, who was a key backer of Donald Trump when he campaigned in the state, was recently found in a motel room with an underage boy. Police recommended that he should face charges of soliciting prostitution of a minor, prostitution within 1,000 feet of a church, and transportation for the purposes of prostitution. He has been suspended from work but he will still collect paychecks. And the day after the motel bust, Shortey posted a picture with Donald Trump Jr. on Facebook and wrote that he was honored to have lunch with him and is “looking forward to an exciting future and hope to be a big part of it.”

Shortey has fought against the rights of undocumented immigrants, proposed a bill that would require presidential candidates to submit their birth certificate before appearing on the Oklahoma ballot, and proposed a bill that would prohibit the use of aborted human fetuses in food intended for human consumption…which we’re pretty sure was never on the table in the first place.
