US Supreme Court Rejects Challenges to State Assault Weapons Ban

This morning it was announced that the Supreme Court would let stand current gun control laws in response to challenges made by gun rights advocates. These laws, active in New York and Connecticut, ban weapons like the assault rifle used in last week’s Orlando shooting. The justices have not made a major gun rights ruling in years and seem to be steering clear of the public debate on gun control.
