The president is constantly tweeting, but the video he posted on Sunday morning probably takes the prize. In the 28-second clip, Trump is seen wrestling a person whose head has been replaced by a CNN logo to the ground. The original clip was filmed during a 2011 “billionaire’s” edition of WrestleMania, the annual pro wrestling event. Trump also called CNN “FNN: Fraud News Network.”
Since his attack on the “Morning Joe” hosts last week, Trump has ramped up his attacks on the media. On Saturday, he talked about CNN at a rally, saying, “I’m president, and they’re not.”
A lot of people were baffled that a sitting president would express himself like this on social media, and many argued that this could be read as an endorsement of violence against journalists. “It is a sad day when the president of the United States encourages violence against reporters,” CNN replied in a statement.
