Gay-friendly Advertisement Sparks Backlash

Hilton Worldwide’s Travel and Leisure magazine recently featured a full-page ad showing two men enjoying a luxurious cuddle in a Hilton suite.

The American Family Association, a Christian organization, caught sight of this and immediately posted a petition “urging [Hilton Worldwide] to market responsibly by advertising in a more family friendly manner when marketing through mainstream media.”

Hilton Worldwide responded to AFA saying, “We are proud to depict and reflect our guest diversity in our advertising.”

Sigh. The thing is, you can’t even be mad at AFA, they’re not even being overly aggressive about this like most organizations would be. But this whole thing might be more a bit more political than it is religious. Turns out the AFA’s president Tim Wildmon might be of the right-wing conservative religious leaders advising Donald Trump.
