Keeping Up with the Intellectual Property Lawsuits

Kylie Jenner is in hot water over intellectual property issues…again. Jenner is being accused of copying a British artist’s work with her “lip bite” logo for her new reality show. The artist, Sara Pope, has filed a lawsuit against Jenner and NBC Universal. Here’s a side-by-side:

The lip bite art was featured in a trailer for Jenner’s new show, which was released in May 2017. The show has yet to air. And this is not the first time that Jenner has been sued over artwork. A makeup artist sued her in November 2016 over the art that Jenner used in ads for her makeup products, and a YouTube makeup artist made similar allegations also in 2016.
