Sorry: Justin Bieber Isn’t Allowed in China

Justin Bieber has been denied entry into China by the Chinese government. Chinese officials stated, “Justin Bieber is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign singer. In order to maintain order in the Chinese market and purify the Chinese performance environment, it is not suitable to bring in badly behaved entertainers. We hope that as Justin Bieber matures, he can continue to improve his own words and actions, and truly become a singer beloved by the public.”

Bieber is no stranger to controversy or allegations of bad behavior–including a drunk driving arrest a few years ago in the U.S. But he’s in good company when it comes to Western artists banned from touring in China. Lady Gaga and Oasis have also been told they’re not welcome by the Chinese government.
