Senator Tom Cotton vs. a Seven-Year-Old

Citizens around the country are showing up to Republican town hall events to give their representatives their (mostly angry) thoughts. Many are emphasizing how unhappy they are with efforts to get rid of the Affordable Care Act and several Republican leaders have been greeted by boos and chants of “do your job.” One constituent who spoke to Senator Tom Cotton in Arkansas pointed out that she wouldn’t be here if the ACA didn’t exist. “There are three members of my family, including me, that would be dead–dead and homeless–if it was not for ACA. I am an angry constituent. You work for us,” the woman said to standing ovations from some 2,000 people in the crowd.

But the speaker who got the most attention in Arkansas was seven-year-old Toby who said that he and his grandma like Mexicans and pointed out that the president is “deleting all the parks and PBS Kids just to make a wall. He shouldn’t do that.”
