How Did These Alabama Prisoners Skip(py) Out of Jail?

There was a pretty big jail break from Walker County Jail in Alabama on Sunday. Twelve prisoners escaped; one is still at large. But news broke yesterday about exactly how the prisoners managed to escape, and it’s a pretty smooth story. Apparently, the inmates covered the numbers of the doors using peanut butter, and when a new guard went to open the wrong door, they charged. Then, they climbed over a barbed wire fence and escaped the prison compound.

Eleven were captured relatively quickly, but Bradley Andrew Kilpatrick, 24, is still at large. He was in jail on drug charges. Walker County Sheriff Jim Underwood commented on the jail break, saying, “This is one time we slipped up. I’m not going to make excuses. It was a human error that caused this to happen. … He’s a young guy, hadn’t been here that long.” It all sounds like one sticky situation.
