On Saturday, North Korea had a military parade in honor of Kim Il Sung. Viewed as the founding father of Korea, Saturday marked what would have been Kim’s 105th birthday. Tensions between the country and the U.S. are high, and yesterday morning, the government fired another test missile that blew up almost immediately. This failed demonstration of force took place just as Vice President Mike Pence started his journey to South Korea. This morning in Seoul, Pence said that the “era of strategic patience is over” and warned North Korea that “all options are on the table.” He also praised President Donald Trump’s determination, and said, “North Korea would do well not to test his resolve–or the strength of the Armed Forces of the United States in this region.”
