Twenty-something women of the world, are you married yet? Because according to Susan Patton, a.k.a. The Princeton Mom, you should be.

In her new book, Marry Smart: Advice for Finding THE ONE, Patton urges young, college attending women to spend their undergrad years husband hunting. According to her, finding a mate before graduation is imperative, because otherwise, your eggs will dry up in your ovaries and you’ll die alone with your seven cats. Or something like that.

Princeton Mom is all kinds of fascinating, and not just because she’s depressingly anti-feminist. Let’s run down the top five reasons why Susan Patton should be your new conservaturd celebrity obsession, mmkay?

1.) Lady is a tiger.

As a Princeton graduate, and a mother of two more, Patton is completely obsessed with orange and black. Her Upper East Side apartment is dripping with it — she’s got tiger tails hanging on the walls, orange and black craft projects strewn about, and she’s currently dreaming of a second wedding on the Princeton campus complete with orange roses.

If she wasn’t busy having New York Magazine features written about her and making appearances on the Today Show, I’d say Patton peaked during her college years. But maybe this tiger is just finding her stripes?

2.) Patton is recently divorced, which is totally a bummer.

She prefers not to talk about her former husband, although he “went to a college of almost no name recognition.” Ouch. Anyway, as it turns out, she frittered away her undergrad years at Princeton, you know, actually getting an education, and then wound up marrying whoever she happened to be dating at 31 in a race against the fertility clock.

I feel like it’s not a coincidence that that didn’t work out, no? Husband hunters, keep that in mind while you’re tracking down marriageable sperm donors. Marrying for the sake of your fertility timeline does not guarantee wedded bliss.

3.) The Princeton Mom is not COMPLETELY anti-feminist.

As a young woman, she eschewed immediate marriage and motherhood in favor of getting a top-notch education and developing her career. She even went so far as to legally emancipate herself from her “women don’t need to be educated” parents so she could attend Princeton.

Points, Princeton Mom. Feminist points.

4.) But don’t get too excited. She’s still pretty anti-feminist.

She doesn’t think date rape is a thing, and she thinks it’s a woman’s responsibility to keep herself out of situations where she might be violated. After all, we can’t expect men to act responsibly! Penises have a mind of their own, clearly. She totally freaked out Savannah Guthrie with this one.

Oh Mama Patton, I was rooting for you for a minute there.

5.) The Princeton Mom might be a tiger, but she’s also a cougar.

Embracing her newly found singledom, she’s dating multiple men at once, at least two of them Princeton grads. Free of the pressure of biology, she’s dating men who are fun and sexy — not potential sperm donors — and she’s having an awesome time doing it.

She just doesn’t really think YOU should be doing that, because, tick tock ladies. Those eggs of yours WILL NOT last forever.

So what do we make of the Princeton mom? Well, she’s a beacon of anti-feminist nonsense, the kind of self-help guru who sets women back a few generations.

She’s also kind of a badass. She’s unapologetic in her opinions, she’s going after it with all she’s got, and she’s feeling awesome about it.

So you do you, Princeton Mom! You be your fierce, tiger self.

The rest of you, don’t listen to her craze-tastic advice unless you’re inventing some kind of drinking game out of her TV appearances. In that case, please share.

Revenge porn is now legal in New York. The issue occurs when a person posts nude photographs of an ex-lover on the internet as a way to embarrass and degrade the ex. The photographs are often exchanged willingly while love blossoms, but when that same love wilts, the images change from intimate gifts to dangerous weapons that can seriously damage a person’s reputation.

For example, in the New York case People v. Barber, the defendant tweeted a nude photograph of his ex-girlfriend and shared it with her sister and employer. While the court acknowledged the “reprehensible” nature of the defendant’s conduct, it nonetheless found him innocent of any crime.

The problem concerns the specific language of New York’s law. In most states, you cannot take a nude photograph of a person without that person’s knowledge or consent. This rule does not apply, however, to situations where a person willingly gives a naked photograph to another. The New York court latched onto this distinction and dismissed the case.

While this particular dismissal was based on the language of the statute, some critics wonder if legislation specifically targeting revenge porn might violate freedom of speech rights. The American Civil Liberties Union opposed a draft to California’s revenge porn bill on the grounds that “the posting of otherwise lawful speech or images even if offensive or emotionally distressing is constitutionally protected. The speech must constitute a true threat or violate another otherwise lawful criminal law, such as stalking or harassment statute, in order to be made illegal.” Those who oppose a statute criminalizing revenge porn highlight the fact that the photographs were freely given and are, in essence, the property of the receiver to do as he wishes.

In contrast, another angle to the problem concerns the ubiquity and permanence of the internet and anything posted to it. Search engines allow anyone to instantly access everything ever posted about a person. Employers, colleagues, and friends all have the ability to discover information about you posted online. This makes a naked photograph in the hands of a scornful ex-flame particularly dangerous and powerful. Put simply: there is no real way to remove something from the internet, and search engines organize what is on the internet with terrifying accurateness and efficiency. An individual risks permanent reputational damage from revenge porn.

While anyone can suffer from revenge porn, the pernicious practice more often negatively affects women. Drafters of revenge porn statutes must also analyze this issue focusing on how it relates to sexual harassment and the discrimination of women. The issue does not affect men in the same way, and drafters need to scrutinize whether or not their stance on revenge porn has any latent sexist, misogynistic, or patriarchal impulses.

Revenge porn constitutes a particularly modern problem. Numerous themes percolate, including changing mores, technological advancement, sexual harassment and discrimination, freedom of speech, and the chaos of unreciprocated love. In New York, the court has signaled to the legislature to fix the problem. Whether and how the state chooses to draft a statute speaks to which themes the state decides to value.

Couples in long distance relationships don’t have the luxury of taking for granted a goodnight kiss or comforting embrace. For long-term relationships, creating a stable life together can resemble a boring routine instead of a loving partnership grown from intense passion.  No matter the circumstances, forgetting the little things that keep you excited about your love can slowly erode its foundation.  Fortunately, a lovely app known as Between was created as way to help couples remember the important little things and special memories.

Between was created in 2011 by Value Creators & Co. and provides a secure private space for two people to share intimate feelings and pictures without broadcasting it them to the world.  Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram have forever changed the way we communicate.  In fact, people tend to over-share opinions, information, and most certainly the happenings of their personal relationships.  Fortunately, the intimate nature of Between is completely different from other social media platforms. This app has a feature allowing couples to post pictures and heartfelt captions and comments that instantly show significant others that they’re being thought of.  The difference between private sharing and public sharing is a welcome change that I hope people take advantage of.  Expressing love on social media is fine, but nobody cares how “cute” your bf’s little shoulder blade mole is.  A return to discretion is much appreciated.

Between certainly isn’t the only relationship app out there; however, the features it does (and doesn’t) have, along with its ease of use, makes it a favorite.  Other relationship apps have a feature allowing couples to create lists that they can edit and check off as tasks are completed. Between has no such feature.  I’m not sure who thought creating lists was a good idea, but it honestly seems like a way to nag your buttercup, virtual style. Who wants a relationship app that also doubles as a relationship to do list? No thanks! The fact that Between really allows users to focus on the desirable parts of being in a relationship and not the work part of them is what makes this app so cool. Other features that Between boasts is a functioning calendar where couples can lock in important dates like anniversaries and countdowns for the next time they’ll see each other. There’s also a feature called memory box, which allows you to choose from pictures and memos that are especially important to you.

In addition to secure chatting that isn’t as easily accessible as the standard text message, Between provides a weather tracking feature for those long-distance couples. It’s not hard to see why your boo is a little annoyed after noticing they’re trapped in the polar vortex. But even with all of these features, nothing grabs me more than the Event Box.

The event box allows couples to search upcoming events in their respective areas and can be used as a resource to find activities to get people out of the house, and into a fun date night. Between provides just enough to get its users in a lovey dovey mood to keep a relationship fresh. It’s the little things that matter, and what could be littler than downloading a free app that’ll keep you connected in a more intimate and private way?
