Why is it they didn’t mention the infamous Star Parker? She was black and lived it up on welfare as she claimed first hand. She contributed to the negative black Welfare Queen stereotype and dumb conservative women actually believe she’s a good role model. Did she ever have to pay back what she stole? How do those benefits break down? How are they going to test such a program? Why do people who can’t take care of themselves need to have children anyway? California isn’t as bad as Texas and if you don’t believe me see for yourself.

In fact the biggest form of welfare fraud is working “off-the-books” jobs for cash to supplement income from low paid / part time “on-the-books” jobs; so as not to lose benefits from Medicaid, food stamps and the EITC. And there are tons of people doing it.

Welfare to the weak and disabled is a noble idea. Welfare for someone who has children they can’t afford is countryside. How many more years should we subsidies the undeserving. Why do we owe them a nickel?

Many of the recipients of such “war on poverty” programs are white, southern men. And then there are government subsidies to the agriculture, big food and petroleum industries. And Social Security has a higher fraud rate. So which programs are liberals throwing more money at, and how does it add up to the money alleged conservatives are spending on the programs that buy them the biggest number of votes?

Gotta love liberal thinking, throw enough money at the problem and hope it goes away. Since the war on poverty began the United States Government has spent 16 trillion dollars with no measurable results. What’s the definition of insanity? Maybe if we’d develop men to be husbands these women wouldn’t need to be married to the state.

That said, we should tax the 0.01% and pay people a minimum income. They would spend much more efficiently than the ultra wealthy and create demand. This demand would create jobs.

It’s an interesting subject and you have many facts in the article but I’m left wondering about the one stat that matters to me. What is the average amount received by the average family in this program? And how does it break down? For example, if there is a husband, wife, and two children and one of the parents works a minimum wage job, do they receive the same amount as an unemployed four person family?
