Demand these days is so high for wood pellets, which are convenient ways to feed these stoves, that they have been in short supply during the winter. Actually one of the cheapest ways to heat a home these days is coal. And like the wood stoves, these coal stoves, often called stokers, are very efficient, they burn so completely there is less pollution. Coal has a terrible reputation though…so people don’t talk about coal stoves too much.
