I can not believe that I wasted 3 minutes of my life reading this terribly written article….don’t people need to be able to write English nowadays to write an article? I read it and it made me puke 🙁

What I read is bla bla bla our clients are all stupid and they should have a moderate level of intelligence and know the twists and turns of the law, because we are not here to help them navigate but to just give them what they ask for. I know about stupid clients, I’m in IT, so I talk about stupid users all the time. But it is just talk. However funny they might look in a story, they still deserve my attention and care. I guess some professions are exempt from that. Like lawyers and judges out of law school. Of course, this is nothing but my humble opinion, and of course I’m just an ignorant dumb layman.

And to the idiots that subtract from the message pointing out spelling errors, look for them in my rant. After all, English is only my third language, after Spanish and French, and before Portuguese and German. Dolts.

Sorry, Dear Lady, but this makes me laugh.

Lawyers have been responsible for the tags that say—don’t iron the shirt while wearing it, recall, and the ridiculous surgery consent forms and neuroleptic consent forms that we MDs have to deal with.

So, seeing an attorney hoist on his petard makes me laugh. The solution to these things is very simple: “loser pays.” If the loser in a lawsuit paid court costs, these types of lawsuits would drop precipitously.

Only in America do we have a legal system with no brake pedal.

Stuck in the middle of all the sarc is this pargraph:

Also, they should have advised her instead to get a judicial separation–which is basically just all the benefits of a divorce without the sin of a failed marriage. In other words, it was perfect for Mulcahy, and yet her lawyers did not let her know about it. (It is my humble opinion that divorces probably make the lawyers more money, and so they deceitfully hid the meaning of divorce from their client to make a few more bucks from themselves. They should be ashamed.)”
Yes the lawyers failed to inform the woman of a viable alternative to legal termination of her marriage that would procure for her the result she was probably seeking; i.e. not having to live with her husband. So they were in the wrong miss smarty-knickers.

Spoiler alert: the outcome was the case was dismissed. Most likely, among other reasons, this woman was crazy. I enjoyed the sarcasm of the article. It’s too bad you cannot write about some of the crazies who leave rude comments. Maybe one of them will try to sue; then, you could write another sarcastic article. Just be sure to include all the minute details. 😉
For what it is worth, I enjoyed the article.

Well, if the lawyer did not follow the instructions of the client he needs to be sued. Just suppose this woman was just trying to put a scare in her husband. (A lot of people do that!) Then the lawyer went ahead and finished the divorce without the go ahead.

I agree with Briggs, and I can look past the typo. She never got to the point. There were no details about how or why this person even entered divorce proceedings. Probably the worse article I’ve ever read. I’m all for sarcasm but not as a substitution for the entire story.
