A fat man is not a worthless man. A guy with a beer gut can still get promoted, get laid, and largely be left in peace”

Not really, fat guys get bullied about it too. I was overweight in high school and college and I got the whole spectrum from being ignored to being insulted; and mostly by women (I also had -non-zero- sex with thin women as much as overweight women did with thin men so I don’t see a difference there). Fat-shaming is pervasive, it includes all sexes and genders. The funny thing is that it exists even in generally overweight countries like the USA or my country.

And it doesn’t work, as we all should know. A “shaming” comment never made me lose weight, probably even made me care less about being overweight, just more likely to think people can be assholes (and no one who “cared about (my) health” had seen my lipid profile or checked my joint health obviously). I lost weight when I wanted to, when I had more time and less stress.

But I guess that doesn’t work with your sexism narrative so you have to ignore it.

Obesity is an eating disorder too, and it is far more widespread (heh) than anorexia or bulimia. When did it become okay for everyone to stop caring what they look like?
